BUCYRUS — With Easter a little more than a week away, kids and their parents will be heading out to the many Easter egg hunts throughout the area.
In Nevada, a hunt will kick off at 1 p.m. on Saturday (April 13) at the Nevada Park.
“We have 3,000 eggs for the children. There will be three different age groups for the children including three and under, four to six and seven to nine,” said Nevada Council member Michael Wise. “We hope everyone comes out and has a great time.”
Heartland of Bucyrus will offer a hunt from 10 a.m. to noon for children ages three through fifth grade. Kids should bring a basket or bag to collect eggs and light refreshments will be provided. Heartland is located at 1170 W. Mansfield St. in Bucyrus.
Across town, the Bucyrus YMCA will offer a hunt that also begins at 10 a.m. for ages 12 and under. Kids should bring baskets or bags for egg collection and there will be separate areas for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary school kids to hunt for eggs, so everyone walks away with a full basket.
After the egg hunt, a small animal petting zoo will be available along with kite-flying fun in the front yard of the YMCA. Please bring your own kite. Candy donations will be accepted at a drop box located at the YMCA.
In Galion, the Signature Health Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at 1 p.m. on April 13 at 935 Rosewood Ave. The hunt will include pictures with the Easter Bunny, snacks, games and crafts and a golden egg prize. Ages one through five will hunt for eggs in the courtyard while kids ages six to 12 will hunt in the front yard. If bad weather occurs, the hunt will move inside.
On April 20, Wesley Chapel will offer a Community Easter Eggstravaganza that will include an egg hunt, prizes, candy, games, food and more. It is free and open to the public. The fun begins at 2 p.m. for kids ages 0 to 12. The hunt will be on Dawsett Avenue between First and Second avenues in Galion.
Also, on April 20, an Easter Egg Hunt will be at Peco Park in Galion at 10 a.m. Cookies and cocoa will be provided. If inclement weather occurs, the hunt will be moved to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Crestline, located at 410 N. Thoman St., Crestline, will offer an Easter Egg Hunt and Party at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. on April 21.
