BUCYRUS — Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold competed in the 2019 Police and Fire Games held in Canton.

The competition is designed to support the physical fitness of Ohio’s active and retired law enforcement and firefighter personnel. Medals are presented in three categories; first place is gold, second is silver and third place earns a bronze medal.

Leuthold competed in the weight-lifting competition on June 10. The judge, who has lifted weights since he was 14 years old, competed in three divisions. In the raw bench competition, Leuthold pressed 355 pounds, good for first place and a gold medal.

In the single ply category, Leuthold also pressed 355 pounds, earning the gold medal and in the power curl competition he curled 150 pounds for another first-place gold medal.

Due to changes in the categories and calculations, these three wins are also considered new state records.

“I certainly enjoyed spending the day with the great men and women who work as firefighters and as law enforcement officers,” Leuthold said. “I was proud to compete with these fine people who work to keep our communities safe.”
