The Crawford County Democrats will hold their annual Ox Roast fundraising dinner on Saturday, September 27 at the Crawford County Conservation League, 3477 State Route 98, Bucyrus.
The evening will begin with social time at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 and program to follow. Dinner will include all-u-can-eat pulled pork or beef sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans, dessert and beverages.
Invited guests will include candidates in the upcoming election, Robert Clark Neff, Jr., for Crawford County Court of Common Pleas; Leanna Hershey, for Crawford County Auditor; Jeff Lehart for the 87th District seat Ohio House; and Judge Steve Eckstein, for Crawford County Juvenile & Probate Judge.
Keynote speaker for the evening will be Dayton, Ohio Mayor Nan Whaley. In addition to her duties as leader of the city, Mayor Whaley is the founder of the Manufacturing Task Force, a regional effort committed to advocating for manufacturing and promoting a strong manufacturing workforce. She is also, chair of the Bike Walk Dayton Committee, as she is committed to making Dayton a bike and pedestrian friendly city. She has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Dayton and received her Master’s of Public Administration from Wright State University where she has served as an Adjunct Professor.
There will be a silent auction. Suggested donation is $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
