Crawford County Democrats got together to share a meal and talk politics Saturday evening at the annual Ox Roast at the Crawford County Conservation League.
Probate and Juvenile Court Judge Steve Eckstein and Sheriff Scott Kent spoke as did Elizabeth Brown. Brown is the daughter of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. Maggie Barth explains what political role the younger Brown has taken on. “Our Speaker is Liz Brown and she is the newly appointed Executive Director of the Democratic Party,” Barth said. “Tonight is our Annual Ox Roast, we talk about Democratic ideals and ideas and we have fellowship with fellow thinkers and we just have a pretty good time.”
Brown discussed her family as well as touching on politics and issues in Ohio such as helping the campaign of gubernatorial candidate Ed Fitzgerald, taxes the Homestead Act, Senate Bill 5 and Jobs Ohio.
In additional to addressing current political issues, Brown presented former Bucyrus City Council member Bobby Carter with an award for his years of service to the community.
