Avita Health System has announced contract awards for the construction of Avita’s multi-specialty medical facility, Avita Ontario. The first phase of the project is slated to be completed by the end of this year. Through a competitive bidding process, Avita has entered contracts with both Richland and Crawford County businesses.
“Avita is very community-minded and therefore we are happy to be working with all local contractors,” commented Andrew Daniels, Chief Operating Officer of Avita Health System. “We received numerous bids for each aspect of the project and we are pleased that our local vendors were among the most competitive. Avita has had working relationships with some of these businesses in the past and we are happy to continue these partnerships.”
Avita Ontario construction contracts have been awarded to the following businesses:
· Adena Corporation, Mansfield, for concrete, steel, and masonry work
· J&B Acoustical, Lexington, for dry wall, door frames, and glass
· Carter Electric, Galion, for electrical work
· Universal Enterprises, Inc., Ontario, for plumbing and heating
· MKC Associates, Mansfield, for overall design of the project
Avita maintains a very aggressive construction timeline, with plans to open an orthopedic clinic as early as August 25 that will house Dr. Scott Foster, Fellowship-Trained Joint Replacement surgeon and a new Sports Medicine Orthopedic surgeon. The remainder of the facility, which will include imaging, pharmacy, lab, and a large array of medical providers, will open late fall 2014.
