BUCYRUS – A longtime business in downtown Bucyrus wants to play a part in “your special moment.”
Special Moments Bridal & Tuxedo, 213 S. Sandusky Ave., is gearing up for the upcoming prom season for Crawford County area high schools as well as weddings and other special occasions with countless tuxedo and formal wear options to buy or rent.
“We find the perfect tuxedo fit and style to suit your needs,” said owner Jeremy Roberts, who bought the business in January 2020 from its second owner, Peggy Simmons. “We carry dozens of tuxedo styles and thousands of colorful accessory combinations.”
Special Moments, a Jim’s Formal Wear retail location, offers tuxedos and suits from designers such as Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, and other collections, Roberts said, which are available in classic black and gray, along with steel gray, sand, indigo blue and white.
“Our expert stylists have pulled together signature collections and can help answer any questions you may have every step of the way,” Roberts said. “The process starts by coming into the store to select your style and measurements. From there we do the rest.”
In men’s suits, the rental includes all of the matching accessories – shirt, necktie, pocket squares, suspenders, and even socks and shoes, Roberts said. Through April 15, he said, the store’s walk-in hours have been extended to accommodate prom-goers and their dates.
Special Moments, however, is also the go-to boutique for brides-to-be and their wedding parties, Roberts said. The store’s bridal line features gowns and veils from Moonlight Bridal, a staple in the bridal industry, and House of Wu, a leading global fashion house, in sizes ranging from 0 to 30, he said.
Dresses in traditional or trendy styles can be purchased off the rack, Roberts said, or custom ordered, from classic A-lines to lace-covered mermaids, in white, ivory, and ivory combinations with gold, café, and nude. “We offer affordable prices and layaway so brides can make payments over time.”
Bridesmaids’ dresses from Christina Wu’s extensive collection and from designer Bill Levkoff, who has been dressing bridesmaids for more than 60 years, also run the gamut in style, fabric and color choices, he said. “The bridesmaid can either be uniformed with the entire bridal party or can find a dress that fits her body style but is still uniformed in the colors of the wedding.”
Special Moments, which regularly adds to its inventory, is unveiling a line of dresses for mothers of the bride by Celavie later this month, Roberts said. In addition, he said, the store is excited to debut two more bridal lines this summer – Val Stefani and House of Wu Love – which feature plus-size dresses.
“I am grateful to be operating a business in a community with such a strong support of local downtown businesses,” he said. “Special Moments continues to expand each collection and introduce top fashion design trends behind one single vision – to be part of your special moment.”
