BUCYRUS — Three local organizations recognized a local radio show host for his efforts in spreading the word on the groups’ work.
Crawford County Job and Family Services, Crawford County Council on Aging, Inc. and the Area Agency on Aging recognized Dave Bush, host of The Spotlight Show on 1540/107.5 WBCO, with a reception at job and family services.
Crawford County JFS Director Cassandra Holtzmann was the first to thank Bush.
“He helps us so much by getting the word out on Spotlight, and simply by talking to people,” she said. “(Dave,) you have worked tirelessly for this community in so many ways. I can’t thank him enough for the work he’s done.”

Area Agency on Aging CEO Duana Patton spoke on Bush’s ability to ease people’s nerves while being on the radio.
“He has a sense of humor that helps everyone feel comfortable,” Patton said. “We could not do it alone, and heavily rely on Dave.”
Cassie Herschler, executive director for the Crawford County Council on Aging, shared similar sentiments.
“He gets ‘it’ with our work and we are lucky to have someone like him in the community,” Herschler said.
Bush also was thanked by Amanda Sheets, operations manager for North Central State College, which Bush is on the advisory board.
To show their appreciation, the attending agencies presented Bush with a wood-encased mantel clock with an inscription.
Bush also made sure his thanks was returned to the groups.
“I really appreciate this and want to thank you for the work you do,” he said. “I truly believe the employees (of the attending agencies) are hugely underappreciated. I don’t think the public really knows how much is done here.”
The event was concluded with refreshments from Morning Glory Bakery.
