SULPHUR SPRINGS — The Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department is set to host its annual firemen’s festival.
The festival is Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.
A full menu is available for purchase both days beginning at 4:30 p.m. The menu includes beef and pork sandwiches, bratwursts, hotdogs, sweet corn and a variety of side dishes.
A beer garden also is available for those of legal age.
Entertainment also will be on display both nights.
On Friday, Left of Center will be performing and other events such as a 5K race and raffles will be occurring.
On Saturday, the New Washington Band as well as the Cellar Dwellers will be performing. A gun raffle also will take place.
While the department is funded by a tax base in Liberty Township, fire chief Rick Harley said the funds raised from the festival help the department buy extra items to better serve the community. He said items such as airbags, JAWS units and fittings for the department’s grass and rescue trucks have been purchased in the past.
But mostly, Harley said, the event is an annual opportunity for community members to come and meet and mingle while enjoying food, drink and music entertainment.
“It’s just a really good time,” he said.
