SULPHUR SPRINGS — Food, music and chances to win prizes will be offered to those who choose to attend the Liberty Township Fireman’s Festival on July 27 and 28.
Festival goers will be able to chow down on some beef and pork bratwursts, hot dogs and sweet corn, along with various side dishes.
A 5K run will take place Friday at 7 p.m. and will begin in Sulphur Springs.
Two free concerts are open to the public during the festival. The Cellar Dwellers will perform Friday night and Brent Lowery and the Drifters will perform Saturday evening.
Those in attendance will have the chance to win raffles prizes, include gun raffle prizes. The firearms up for grabs include a Smith and Wesson Model 637 .38 special, Ruger American .450 Bushmaster, Ruger American 17HMR, Ruger AR-556 and a Henry Big Boy .44 Magnum.
Gun raffle tickets will be available at the festival and the drawing is Saturday at 10 p.m.
Firetrucks also will be out for kids to look at.
Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Rick Harley said the festival helps provide funds for things that go beyond the department’s typical budget.
“In the past we have bought things like the JAWS unit, a grass truck and remodeled out meeting area,” Harley said. “It really takes strain off of the township.”
The festival begins at noon Friday and end at midnight Saturday.
