MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The academic challenge season for 6th through 8th-grade teams concluded this week, with local schools showcasing strong performances.

In the 6th-grade tournament held on May 13, Lexington teams dominated the competition, securing both first and second place. Lexington A emerged as the champions with a score of 126. Team members include Ben M., Quinn G., Ina G., and Gracie C. The second-place title went to Lexington B, scoring 99, with team members Emily S., Monte C., Ben D., and Paisley K.

The 7th/8th-grade tournament took place on May 14th, with Mansfield Spanish Immersion claiming the top spot with a score of 110. The winning team consists of Liam McCumiskey, Asher Robbins, Alesanna Nixon, Brenna Howe, Kylie Baker, and Owen Doan. Lexington A finished in second place with a score of 97. Their team members are Carter G., Axl L., Coulter S., Jesse S., and Noah T.

Participating schools in the tournaments represented Crawford, Richland, and Morrow counties.

The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, which provides specialized academic and support services to 13 school districts and over 20,000 students in the region, facilitated the academic challenge.
