Voters renewed a Crawford County Children’s Services levy as well as one in Texas Township by wide margins in Tuesday’s Primary Election.
The Texas Township levy is for 1.0 mill and five years. It passed by a 22 to 3 margin.
The Children’s Services levy is for 0.5 mil for 10 years and passed, 1,368 to 809 or with nearly 63 percent of the voters’ approval. Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall discussed the importance of the levy to the children it benefits.
“Children Services has a very difficult job, sometimes a very expensive job to make sure that our most vulnerable citizens, children who have been abuse and sometimes have many, many problems, have a safe place to be,” Crall said.
Voter turnout for Tuesday’s Primary Election was, as expected very light. Of more than 28,000 registered voters in Crawford County, only 7.76 percent cast a ballot. All of Tuesday’s local results from the Primary Election are available on this Web site.
