The Crestline Public Library will host a round-table discussion at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 led by Mike Hocker, past president of Ohio Byways coalition, discussing over 150 places to visit in Ohio that many people overlook.

“There’s certainly nothing wrong with taking vacation out-of-state,” says Hocker, “but discovering the many gems we have right here on your way to visiting a relative or shopping in a larger town can make for a fun day or two ‘get-away’ on the cheap.”

The talk will include some tricks and tips about finding a good restaurant, shopping, museum-hopping, and what to expect when entering a small or unfamiliar town, and getting the best of its amenities.

The event is free, and attendees are encouraged to share their small town discoveries as well.

“This is an idea that I hope inspires people to take advantage of our state’s hidden treasures and fun things to do, and there are 27 Ohio byways that also tell a story as you travel to those places,” said Hocker.
