MARION— In 1952, Lady Justice was last removed from the Marion County Courthouse. It wasn’t until 1980 that she made her return, thanks largely to Marion Radio Legend Charlie Evers.
Today Lady Justice was once again removed from her perch on top of the Marion County Courthouse for repairs to save her and her important place in Marion’s history.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t take 28 years to get her back atop the courthouse like it did last time she came down.” Marion County Judge Edwards stated, “My thanks to all involved in restoring the gem of downtown Marion.”
