BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The sound of cheers, the sight of bright jerseys, and the excitement of kids running onto the field filled Bucyrus on Saturday. Families, friends, and neighbors gathered to support their players as the community came together for youth soccer.
For many of the young athletes, it wasn’t just about winning—it was about being part of something bigger. Bentley Henak, now in his first season with the U12 team, said he was excited to be back on the field with his team. “This is my sixth year playing, and I’m ready to work hard with my team,” Bentley shared with a grin.
On the sidelines, Bentley’s grandmother, Michelle Henak, cheered proudly. She loves supporting Bentley and says she will never miss a game. “It’s wonderful to see the kids learning teamwork and having fun,” she said.
From the goals scored to the laughs and high-fives shared on the field, the day was filled with smiles, teamwork, and a strong sense of community. It’s clear the impact of youth soccer goes far beyond the field.
