I once walked into a listing appointment in South Carolina with a seller I’ll call Jack. He was angry. His home had been on the market for a year, and he told me flat out that I would never sell it either.

Ever curious, I asked what he did for a living.
He said, “I am me.”
Um… excuse me?

Jack then asked if I had ever read As a Man Thinketh. That conversation reshaped how I see life—and the psychology behind every buyer and seller I encounter. I’ve always believed this: whoever I’m placed in front of needs me, even if they don’t know it yet.

This past week, while reading, I was reminded of Jack. I was in 1 Chronicles and noticed a name I had overlooked—Keturah. We’ve heard of Abraham and Sarah, as well as Abraham and Hagar. But who’s this Keturah?  After Sarah died, Abraham married Keturah. She bore him six sons and is even referred to in a later study as Abraham’s soulmate.

To me, Keturah represents new dreams of hope and encouragement.

As the market realigns itself, interest rates rattle us, and fear of the unknown tries to hover over us,  it’s easy to believe we are stuck, frozen, and that our story is over. It’s not. Just as I had assumed that Abraham’s story ended with Sarah, it certainly did not!

Do you feel at an impasse in your real estate “relationship” right now—high interest rates, dread of moving again, an unwanted divorce, fear of starting over? Let me remind you- your story isn’t over.

Back to Jack. I looked him squarely in the eyes and said, “I’ll read your book if you list this house with me today.” Nothing changes if nothing changes. I can work for you or against you in this real estate deal—your choice. But I’m going to sell this house, Jack. I know a Name! His Name is Jesus—and He didn’t send me today to a disgruntled, angry seller for nothing. And this, my new friend, is not how your story is going to end!”

It didn’t.
The home was sold in what could only be called a miraculous timeframe.

Because Keturah moments still happen.
And your ending hasn’t been written yet.
