BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A Kentucky man was arraigned in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court Monday morning on felony charges of Importuning. Helms appeared via video from the Crawford County Justice Center.

According to the indictment, Bennett Helms, 35, of Crestwood, Kentucky was arrested by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday afternoon. Helms is accused of after he solicited  (who he believed to be a juvenile between the ages of 13 and 16) for sex. Helms actually solicited a law enforcement officer. The charges if a fifth degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.

Crawford County Common Pleas Cout Judge Sean Leuthold set Helm’s bond at $100,000. He advised the court that he has retained counsel. If he makes bond, he is to have no contact with juveniles.
