The name Kennedy Layne has always been in the back of Kelly Redmon’s mind but with two little boys, she never got the chance to use it. Until, that is, she opened her own hair salon in Bucyrus.
The Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the Kennedy Layne Salon, located at 300 North Sandusky Avenue, Friday morning.
“The name . . . I had that picked out for a girl but I had two little boys,” Redmon explained. “I completely forgot about and then when I was trying to come up with a name for the salon I remembered. That’s where it came from.”
Redmon brings nearly 14 years of hairstyling experience to Bucyrus. She had worked at salons in Columbus and the local area before setting roots down at Kennedy Layne.
Building relationships and being involved in the community were big factors when Redmon decided to open a salon but there was also a more personal reason. “I was ready to take my career to the next level and go from there,” Redmon said.
Kennedy Layne Salon is a full service salon that offers haircuts, colors, perms, and hair extensions. It also offers spray tanning, gel or acrylic nails, and manicures and pedicures. The salon is open 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. To schedule an appointment call 419-617-7630.
