The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual meeting Tuesday with the top award of the evening going to Keller Farms. Keller Farms of Crestline received the Outstanding Cooperator Award sponsored by Ag Credit.

Keller Farms was cited for doing edge of field study programs, practicing conservation tillage, nutrient planning and installation of drainage.

Mike Hall discussed the function of the annual meeting.

“The purpose of tonight was to honor the conservations done in the county here in Crawford County by our land owners and producers as well as elect two new Supervisors to our The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors,” Hall said. “It’s just an opportunity for people to come out and fellowship and have a good time and eat some good food and honor those people who are doing such a good job with conservation in our county.”

Kent Stuckey and Rose Hartschuh were elected to the Board of Supervisors.

Purdue graduate Dave White was the evening’s main speaker. White emphasized the “need to work together” to build trust in the brand of American agriculture by shared values and to drive consumer trust.
