Bucyrus resident Keith Kaufman was recently elected to the office of second vice-district governor of the Lions Club District 13-OH2 at the yearly convention in Westlake. The Bucyrus Lions Club received a humanitarian award, a club service award, a governor’s excellence award and a certificate for sponsoring a peace poster contest for middle school students. Club members attended a seminar on using the Plusoptix vision screeners for detecting eye problems in children and a seminar where optometry students told about taking donated eyeglasses to other countries that don’t have vision services.
Lions clubs sponsor many vision-related projects worldwide. Unneeded eyeglasses may be donated at Envision Eyecare, 236 S. Sandusky Avenue. Anyone can call 419-562-4455 for more information about the club and eyeglass recycling.
