Keith, who at the time was a resident of Crestline, was sentenced in the 1994 murder of Marichell Chatman, her daughter, Marchae Chatman, and Linda Chatman, as well as shooting and wounding an adult, Richard Warren, and two young children, a brother and sister.
The event occurred at Bucyrus Estates.
Keith was sentenced to death after a two-week trial and was two weeks from his execution when then-Gov. Ted Strickland commuted Keith’s sentence to life without parole.
In February 2018, Keith sued the City of Bucyrus. The case was dismissed in September. He also was denied the chance to take his appeal in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in May 2018.
Keith currently is serving his life sentence at Marion Correctional Institution.
