The show arena was packed with people and pork on Thursday as the Crawford County Fair held judging for the Junior Fair Market Hogs.
Judge Ben Moyer explained what he would be looking for in selecting the winner.
“Well I think we need to look at square opened up in their lower third skeleton,” Moyer said. “We need to have some muscle shape, and we definitely need to be balanced and have that overall soundness and put it all in one overall really powerful balanced package.”
Over 20 classes of hogs were shown. Lexie Wood of Holmes-Liberty Royal Lions took Grand Champion honors in lightweight gilt. Kelsie Williams of the Mt. Zion Buckeyes was declared Reserve Grand Champion.
