MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is thrilled to announce that Julie Pfeifer of ABRAXAS School has been awarded a Richland County Foundation Educator Grant totaling $1,495.82. This grant, provided by the Marion B. Bowers Fund, will support Pfeifer’s “Reading through Different Genres” initiative, enabling the purchase of a diverse collection of books for the school library.
Pfeifer expressed her gratitude, saying, “The support and generosity of The Richland County Foundation is greatly appreciated by both my students and me! We are so excited to add the new books to our library so that we can continue to explore different genres and experiences through reading.”
Kevin Kimmel, Superintendent of the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, commended Pfeifer’s dedication, stating, “I would like to commend Ms. Pfeifer for her efforts to seek additional funds to provide resources for her students.”
The Richland County Foundation, one of the largest private grant-making entities in the area, administers over 430 charitable funds established by individuals, families, and businesses. The foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in Richland County through strategic philanthropy and community leadership.
The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 13 school districts, serving over 20,000 students across Crawford, Morrow, and Richland Counties. Services include curriculum, gifted and special education consulting, speech pathology, psychology, special education teaching, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
