Several events are happening on Thursday across the county including a job fair that will feature at least 40 local employers and organizations.

Hannah Jacobs, communications director for the Crawford Partnership for Education and Economic Development, said the job fair will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pickwick Place, located at 1875 N. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus.

“Entry is free for job seekers, so people searching for a job should come out and explore the many opportunities our community has to offer,” Jacobs said on Wednesday.

The Crawford Partnership also will be holding an open house at their recently renovated building from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday.

“It’s a joint effort with Crawford Works and the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce since they now have offices in the building also,” Jacobs said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held during the open house and is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Also happening Thursday evening is a Candidates Night event at Lowe-Volk Nature Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. Crawford County candidates with opposition in their respective races and tax issue representatives were invited to participate by the sponsors of the event, the Mid-Ohio Progressives.

Those who have accepted the invitation to speak are: Galion mayoral candidates Tom O’Leary and Jim Hedges; Galion law director candidates Thomas N. Palmer and E. Roberta Wade; Galion city auditor candidates Paula E. Durbin and Brian L. Treisch; Galion council-at-large candidates Gail L. Baldinger, Alice Matthews, Shirley A. Clark and Carrie A. Zeger; and Galion 4th Ward candidates Jennifer L. Kuns and Tammy D. Siclair-Erlsten.

Also expected to attend are Colonel Crawford school board candidates Margaret Hoyles and Heather M. Skaggs and Bucyrus school board candidates Debra Hoover and Traci L. Wetterau; and Bucyrus council-at-large, Daniel F. Ross and Daniel Wirebaugh.

Representatives will be on hand to discuss the Wynford bond/levy issue, ADAMH Board tax renewal and the Crawford County Children Services tax issue.
