Orange barrels are once again in full bloom on area highways. The Ohio Department of Transportation has several ongoing projects that affect traffic.
Below are current ODOT projects in the Crawford County.
State Route 61/State Route 309
SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one-way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 18 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.
State Route 61
SR 61, just north of State Route 309 in the City of Galion, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 61 to SR 309, west on SR 309 to State Route 598, north on SR 598 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to SR 61, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 16, 2014.
State Route 97
SR 97, from the City of Galion to the Morrow County line, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete on July 31, 2014.
State Route 598
SR 598, at the CSX railroad tracks just south of Crestline Road in the village of Crestline, is closed for repair work. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to US Route 30, west on US 30 to State Route 602, north on SR 602 to County Road 330, east on CR 330 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 15, 2014.
