TIFFIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Ryan Eagon was accused of killing an adult and two children before taking his own life in November, according to authorities.
The Seneca County Coroner’s Office said in a press release Friday that it had concluded its investigation into the November murder-suicide that killed two adults and two children in Tiffin.
According to a press release, the autopsies on the deceased were conducted on Nov. 21, two days after the shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Huss Street in Tiffin.
The autopsies, which were performed by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office with the Seneca County Coroner present, resulted in the following determinations:
Dustin Willey, age 29, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head, neck, torso and back. Willey’s cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, while his manner of death was homicide.
The coroner’s office determined the 7-year-old killed in the shooting died due to multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
The second child killed in the shooting was a 7-month-old. The cause of death was ruled to be a single gunshot wound to the head, while the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Ryan Eagon, 42, sustained a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His cause of death was determined to be from the gunshot wound, while the manner of death was ruled a suicide.
A toxicology report resulted in a “presumptive positive for caffeine,” the coroner’s office said.
Police said officers were called to the 100 block of Huss Street around 6:24 p.m. on Nov. 19 for reports of shots fired and screaming.
Police found several people with gunshot wounds when they arrived.
According to police, the mother of the children had returned to the home to remove belongings due to ongoing domestic issues. She had arranged for Willey the father of her oldest child, to help her move out while her husband, Eagon, was believed to be working out of town.
Police said the mother and Willey were inside gathering items as the children, ages 7 years and 7 months, waited outside near a vehicle. After hearing the 7-year-old cry out, they went to check on him and saw Eagon in the driveway.
Police said Eagon immediately chased Willey, pushing past the mother and firing multiple shots. According to police, he then shot both children before continuing to fire at Willey. Eagon then fatally shot himself.
The mother told police she carried the injured children back inside the house before first responders arrived. Tiffin Fire and Rescue transported Willey to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The infant and Eagon were pronounced dead at the home. The 7-year-old was taken to the hospital and later died.
