In the most contentious race in Tuesday’s election due to impassioned debates from residents that were supporting two of the three candidates, Mayor Thomas O’Leary will keep his position for another term after winning re-election over current Galion City Council member Jim Hedges and former council member Ken Bodkins.

O’Leary earned 1,269 votes while Hedges received 519 of the votes and Bodkins received 331.

Brain Treisch, the current auditor of Galion, will also hold onto his position after beating out his opponents, former city treasurer Paula Durbin and current city council member Susan Bean.

Council president Carl Watt ran unopposed for his position as did council members William Comerford and Mark Triplett.

Thomas Fellner, Gail Baldinger and Shirley Clark will keep their seats as at-large city council members while former city council member, Michael Richart, won a seat again for the third-ward and newcomer, Tammy Siclair-Erlsten, won the fourth-ward seat.

Current city law director, Thomas Palmer, won re-election over former city law director Roberta Wade.
