CRESTLINE — Victoria Caldwell, executive director of the Humane Society Serving Crawford County, spoke to Crestline Village Council about a residence that humane society employees entered.

Humane society employees entered the residence to capture animals and take them to the humane society. The society received multiple calls about the number of animals and their condition.

Approximately 25 animals were removed from the residence to be rehomed.

Caldwell, on behalf of the shelter, went to council hoping for compensation to help pay for the services rendered because the homeowner didn’t have a way to pay the shelter.

The cost of the services is more than $9,100.

Council did not comment on the request once Caldwell finished addressing it.

In other council business, the village now is hiring a pool manager, lifeguards and concession stand workers for the summer.

To apply, residents may go to the village website and get an application under the employment opportunities tab.
