The Crawford Park District will host a special program and answer a burning question at the same time Saturday.
The program, How do You Fire a Cannon?, will be at 1 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park.
The obvious answer, of course, is very carefully. However volunteer instructor William Anderson of the 1st Continental Artillery will provide the technical specifics. The program will cover French and Indian War, Revolutionary War and Civil War basic artillery operation.
Those attending will become familiar with the artillery through “dry-runs” as artillery will not actually be fired.
