The Ohio EPA has recently approved the Crawford, Erie, Sandusky, Seneca and Wyandot County Board of Commissioner’s request for funding for the 2013 Water Pollution Control Loan Funds Home Sewage Treatment System Principal Forgiveness Loan. This program allows for repair or replacement of home sewage treatment systems for low income residents within the respective counties.
Homeowners with total household incomes of all residents at or below $23,500 may be eligible for 100% of the system repair/replacement. Homeowners with total household incomes between $23,500 and $47,000 may be eligible for 85% of the system replacement costs. Due to the program not covering administrative costs all participants must pay an administrative fee of no less than $1,000. Funding is limited, so don’t wait to apply.
Cindy Brookes, Sandusky River Watershed Specialist is administering the programs in the 5 counties listed above. For more information or an application contact the watershed office at 419-334-5016 or cabrookes@wsos.org.
