The Galion Police Department responded to a home invasion complaint on the evening of Dec. 19. Officers reported to 221 Sherman St. at 8:45 p.m. where the victim reported that a person, possibly a white female wearing a tan or brown Carhart coat, entered her home. The suspect brandished a handgun at the victim and demanded her purse. The suspect took the victim’s purse and fled the residence. The victim stated that the suspect was between 5’04” – 5’08”. No one was injured during the incident.
The Galion Police Department was assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. At this time the suspect remains at large.
On December 20, 2013 at approximately 8:40 am a citizen brought in a found purse that matched the description of the stolen purse. The purse was recovered in the area of Darlene’s Dairy Bar on N. East St.
