Pleasing the palette for its third year the Taste of Crawford County returned to the Youth Building at the Fairgrounds Thursday night.

Hosted by the Crawford County Farm Bureau, the Taste of Crawford County featured 13 different commodities on display. Displays featuring pork, poultry, beef, soy, dairy, wine, honey, maple syrup, apples, Cooper’s Mill, OSU Agricultural Extension, and the Crawford Farm Bureau were giving out samples as well as information on the food grown and raised in Crawford County.

Brenda Kocher of the Crawford County Farm Bureau explained how the Taste of Crawford County has changed over the past three years.

“The first year we had a food dialogue where we had people talking about different areas of food and what is happening in agriculture, last year we had a chef come in and prepare a meal of local food, and this year we are centering on the Pickwick Place and their local movement to get more local foods,” Kocher said.
