BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—31-year-old David Holdcraft, formerly of Bucyrus but currently serving a 24-year prison sentence for child pornography offenses, appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court for a pretrial on Tuesday.
Holdcraft, who pleaded guilty to various child pornography charges in May 2022, is now facing two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition, all involving victims under the age of ten.
If convicted, Holdcraft could face two life sentences without the possibility of parole, plus an additional five years.
Judge Sean Leuthold has scheduled a trial date of August 5th, with the first day dedicated to jury selection.
Due to the nature of the charges and evidence, including video recordings, Leuthold plans to summon 80 potential jurors for the trial.
Holdcraft is being represented by court-appointed attorney Howard Elliot, and a final pretrial is expected to be set for mid-June.
Crawford County Now will continue to provide updates on this developing story.
