MORROW COUNTY—A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Morrow County on Friday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Township Road 213, located just east of County Road 26 near Marengo, shortly before 5:30 p.m. The victim, identified as a 14-year-old, was crossing the street when a westbound vehicle struck the teen.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision. The teen sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to a nearby local hospital for medical treatment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is actively seeking assistance from the public in this case. Although they are currently unable to provide a detailed description of the fleeing vehicle, authorities believe it would have sustained noticeable damage to its front end due to the collision.
