BUCYRUS — A Bucyrus man was honored for his volunteerism during the Crawford County Historical Society’s annual trustees and volunteers banquet.

Dave Bush, host of The Spotlight Show on Country Legends WBCO, was honored for his work on the radio promoting all activities done by the society.

After an invocation by Historical Society President Dr. John Kurtz, Historical Society Vice President Ray McCall presented Bush with a plaque and said a few words.

“Dave is one who goes way beyond the call of duty, who helps not just the historical society, but those around the entire county,” McCall said. “He’s the biggest supporter of things like our history books, even buying the first 20 copies.

He promotes us on the radio and we thank you very much.”

Bush was nearly speechless while accepting the award.

“I don’t really know what to say,” Bush said. “I can’t tell you how much this means to me.”

Bush then thanked the radio station for giving him the opportunity to share community happenings on The Spotlight Show with originally limited media experience.

“I want to thank each of you that made this happen,” he said. “My background was history and it has always been a part of me.”

After the award presentation, those in attendance celebrated a meal together to celebrate the past year.
