BUCYRUS — Emergency crews have been activated and are responding to reports of downed power lines and trees in the roadways.

North central Ohio has been placed on a high-wind advisory.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds, with speeds between 20-30 miles per hour and gusts as fast as 50 miles per hour, have caused the advisory to be issued for the local area including Crawford, Richland, Marion, Morrow, Seneca and Wyandot counties.

According to the AEP Ohio power outage map, hundreds are without power in Crawford County and the surrounding area.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office has reported problems with its 911 phone line.

Power is estimated to be restored by 9 a.m.
