Both groups are under the direction of Nickie French, Director of Choirs for the Bucyrus City Schools.
“These students have worked diligently all school year to prepare for this performance,” French said. “They are excited to perform, and we hope everyone from the community will make time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
In addition to the vocal concert, the first ever Choir Awards ceremony will be held to honor students for their dedication and hard work in the vocal arts department.
“For the first time ever, students will be able to earn a letter for choir,” French said. “The criterion for earning a letter is based upon a point system that allows students to meet the necessary requirements in multiple ways throughout the entire school year to earn their letter.
“This new system has really encouraged students to participate in choir activities outside of school. It has motivated them positively and given them all something to work toward.”
