Small town or large city, there is no immunity from the dangers of heroin for those who choose to use the drug. A man and a woman died in Bucyrus this week from what are suspected to be heroin overdoses.

Those who died this week in Bucyrus have been identified as 39-year-old Reuben Guilkey and 24-year-old Abbie Riley.

They are just two of several cases of overdoses police and in Bucyrus and Galion have responded in recent weeks. While blue drop heroin was the scourge a few months ago, a new form of heroin which is mixed with another drug often used as an elephant tranquilizer is now on the streets. Overdoses from that mix is not nearly as responsive to Narcan as other forms of heroin.

It is not known what type of heroin may have been involved in the deaths of Guilkey and Riley.
