MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)The Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development and Richland Public Health are presenting “Discover Richland – Economic Insights from Healthcare Tour” on Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will begin at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and aims to highlight the critical role of healthcare in both individual well-being and the regional economy.

This exclusive, full-day bus tour will offer participants a behind-the-scenes look at seven healthcare organizations within Richland County. The itinerary includes visits to hospitals, primary care facilities, a cancer center, a pediatric health center, and the Veterans Affairs clinic. Through tours and discussions at each location, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how access to care, health outcomes, and strategic investment in healthcare infrastructure are shaping the community’s future.

“Individuals tend to view healthcare from their specific life experiences,” said Angie Cirone, Mansfield-Richland Area Educational Foundation Director. “This tour will give community members an understanding of the healthcare services available for people of all ages, as well as the crucial role healthcare organizations play in building our community.”

The tour will include stops at: OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, Third Street Family Health Services, Avita Health System – Ontario Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center – Mansfield, Akron Children’s Pediatric Health Center and Urgent Care – Mansfield, David F. Winder VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Mansfield.

Discussions at each stop will focus on access to care, health outcomes, economic investments within the healthcare sector, and the future of healthcare in the region.

The tour is open to all community members, with the goal of fostering dialogue about healthcare services among business, community, government, and healthcare leaders.

A “buy one, get one” promotion is available for registration at $150 for two individuals, while spots last. The tour fee includes bus transportation, coffee, refreshments, and lunch. Registration is available online.
