The Crawford County Healthcare Partners (CCHP) met at Avita’s Galion Community Hospital Tuesday with updates to the upcoming Community Health Assessment.
Nathan Benich began the meeting explaining that over the last few weeks the MOU was reviewed and clarified. Benich also announced that the city of Bucyrus contributed $1,000, but that the group is still $3,000 – $5,000 short. The organization will apply for a Community Foundation Grant to try to cover the funding gaps, however the hope is to have other community programs jump on board for the Community Health Assessment.
The CCHP discussed reviewing questions on sample surveys to get an idea of what questions to select for the CHA when the group meets on May 28 for question selection. During the discussion the group agreed to try to work with questions less agreed upon, with hopes to have a majority of the questions selected before the May meeting.
The CCHP also discussed reducing the amount of meetings by forming subcommittees and having four meetings as opposed to the original six to eight meetings that were originally planned. The CCHP agreed to start sending updates to members of the program through a newsletter with updates from the subcommittees.
The next meeting for the CCHP will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on May 28 in which they will meet with Director of Community Health Improvement of the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio Brittney Ward for final question selection. The public is welcome to attend.
