BUCYRUS — The National Weather Service Office in Cleveland has announced a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday for Crawford County and the surrounding areas.
Severe weather is possible in the area beginning in the late afternoon and continuing into the night.
According to the National Weather Service, a squall line of severe thunderstorms will likely develop late this afternoon into the late evening hours and move across the area from west to east.
SPC has upgraded northwest Ohio to a moderate risk for severe weather with the rest of northern Ohio in an enhanced risk.
The greatest threat will be damaging wind gusts as fast as 75 miles per hour with the squall line. There is the risk for a couple discrete supercells ahead of the squall line with the potential for a couple tornadoes and large hail possible.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning will be likely and localized heavy rainfall will be possible.
Non-thunderstorms gusty winds likely will be from the south today with wind gusts as fast as 40 miles per hour possible.
In the event of severe weather, residents should seek shelter, primarily in a basement or interior room with no windows.
