While improvements around the fairgrounds with the gun raffle money are being discussed, the Fair Board did approve some improvement projects from the Livestock Committee going forward Wednesday night. The board approved improvement requests for a manure pit for the cost of $750 and improvements to the hog barn for $3,000. The hog barn improvements will be focused mainly on the gates.
Improvements to the poultry barn, as well as the purchase of scales were tabled until further estimates can be gathered.
The Fair Board is looking into wood carving as entertainment for the 2016 Crawford County Fair. After Wambold’s Amazing Animals backed out due to injury, the board had agreed to book Extreme Illusions and Escapes. However during Wednesday night’s meeting it was announced that Extreme Illusions backed out of the contract due to accepting a booking that was closer to their base of operations.
