The man arrested in Ashland when a woman called 911 and said she had been abducted has been charged in Ashland County Common Pleas Court. Shawn Grate is charged with two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping according to a press release from the Ashland County prosecutor.

Police discovered two bodies at a Covert Court home and Grate led them to a third body in Madison Township. One of the bodies found in Ashland has been identified as Stacey Hicks, also known as Stacey Stanley.

The other two, also females, have not been identified yet.

Grate does have a criminal record in Crawford County and has done jail time here for misdemeanor domestic violence.

Each of the murder counts Grate is charged is punishable by prison sentences of 15 years to life. The one count of kidnapping is punishable by a prison term of three to 11 years. Grate’s bond hearing scheduled for late Thursday afternoon was cancelled.
