The Grandstands were packed at the Crawford County Fair Friday night as the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association (OSTPA) brought their modified tractors and trucks to the Crawford County Fair looking for the full pull.
Looking for something to do, Tyler Rafeld attended the Tractor Pull. Rafeld summed up the best pull of the night saying, “It’s hard to say because not many people really got going tonight. A lot of breaking, so I guess the first truck in the truck class made it furthest. I guess the first truck in the truck class he made it the furthest so that has been most impressive.”
Austin Berry beat out nine other contestants that exceeded over 300 feet in the Super Modified Four Wheel Drive Division, going 322.360 feet in a truck named Black Diamond.
Mathew Matzger went over team mate Mike Laribee in the Pro Stock Semi division. Metzger’s Brockasaurus pulled 311.63 feet Friday night edging out Laribee by three feet whose rig pulled the sledge 308.41 feet. Metzger also placed 1 spot higher than uncle Mark Metzger who finished second in the Super Stock.
Taking first in Super Stock was Scott Jerew, whose tractor Ride the Lightning rode out the competition pulling the sledge 286.320 feet.
In Light-Limited Pro Stock it was Rick Heffelger in The Wolf pulling the transfer weight sled the furthest by going 319.25 feet.
The OSTPA will make its next stop at the Ottawa County Fair Tractor Pull on Saturday night.
