GALION—The Northmor board of education held their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening.

The board approved amended graduation requirements for the class of 2021 that were recently passed by the state. The amended requirements allow for students to pass classes with a letter grade if they were not able to take final exams due to the current pandemic.

At the last board meeting, the discussion was had to place Bipolar Ionization Devices throughout the board of education office into the split system, courtesy of ESSER II money. The board approved the purchase of those devices last night for a little over 4,600 dollars.

The board approved an invoice for 9,500 dollars with Jim Nigh Painting to repaint two outbuildings. The buildings will be white with black doors with a yellow and black stripe facing the football field.

In round three of the ESSER funds, the school district is expected to receive around 2.3 million dollars. ESSER funds can be used to purchase items necessary to maintain school operations during and after the COVID-19 pandemic as long as they fall within certain guidelines that are set forth.

The next board meeting is May 18 at 6 p.m.
