BUCYRUS — On Oct. 11, eight “Outstanding Senior Citizens” were inducted into the Crawford County Golden Years Hall of Fame honoring outstanding senior citizens for their distinctive service to the community.
In 1978, the first 14 Senior Citizens were inducted into the Crawford County Golden Years Hall of Fame, with a total of 244 senior citizens inducted from 1978-2018.
The program at the Crawford County Council on Aging, recognized; Joseph Armbruster, Joan Carver, Mary Fox, Thelma Hawkins, Sandra Lane, Ray McCall, Gary Schiefer and Dr. Donald Wenner.
A welcome, invocation and introduction of nominees were provided by Dave Bush, WBCO Spotlight Host, alongside Cassie Herschler, Executive Director of the Council on Aging, who presented the plaques to the nominees.
Thank you to The Flower Cart of Galion, for its generous donation in providing corsages and boutonnieres to the honorees. The awards presented to the honorees were compliments of the Bucyrus Kiwanis Club.
The Council on Aging would like to extend a great appreciation to the community for its support in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of all the Crawford County Golden Years Hall of Fame inductees.
