DELAWARE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—GOAL Digital Academy has announced its Delaware Learning Lab will remain at its current location, 248 North Washington Street, thanks to the support of the building’s new owners, Jim and Judi Hill. GOAL had previously explored relocation options after the building was placed at auction by Delaware City Schools.
Jim and Judi Hill, longtime residents of the Northwest Neighborhood since 1973, officially purchased the historic school building. They expressed a deep commitment to preserving the integrity and purpose of the space within the community.
“Some of my best memories are of watching my kids, and many of their friends, playing soccer and football in the green space surrounding the school,” said Jim Hill, owner of Hill Engineering based in Delaware. “We wanted to ensure that this building continues to serve the community and remains a place where families gather, learn, and grow.”
The Hills’ decision to acquire the property was driven by a desire to maintain its role as a school and a cornerstone of community life.
Tish Jenkins, Superintendent of GOAL Digital Academy, shared the sentiment. “We’re not just staying, we’re growing,” Jenkins said. “This building has been a vital part of our school community, and with the support of Mr. and Mrs. Hill, we’re excited to improve the space and continue serving our students with even greater impact.”
GOAL Digital Academy plans to make improvements to the Learning Lab, reflecting its mission to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. The academy remains focused on helping students thrive from its historic Delaware location.
