The Community Care March will be making its return to Bucyrus after touring other towns in Crawford County for the past three years.

The first Community Care March took place in 2011 as hundreds of people walked down North Sandusky Avenue in Bucyrus to increase awareness of drug abuse and to celebrate recovery. Since then, the march has been held annually at different locations in the county, making stops at Galion, Crestline, and New Washington with each consecutive year.

The fifth annual Community Care March will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7. The march will begin at the Bucyrus Community Hospital parking lot and will proceed to Good Hope Lutheran Church on West Charles Street.

Those unable to walk the entire distance can join the walk when it passes through the square. Transportation will also be available for participants needing assistance during the walk or in returning to their vehicles.

Special guest speakers include Bucyrus Mayor Jeff Reser;, Executive Director of the Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board, Jody Demo-Hodgins; Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent; and police chiefs from Bucyrus, Galion, Crestline, and New Washington.

Refreshments will be provided by Good Hope Lutheran Church Youth Ministry and community information tables will also be set up for viewing. Door prizes and T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
