The Humane Society Serving Crawford County will hold their annual Paws Walk Festival on June 28, 2014 at the Humane Society grounds.
This year’s event will include a 5k run and a 12- or 26-mile bike ride. Registration for the bike or run starts at 8:30 a.m. at Outhwaite Reservoir. Cost of the pre-registration for both the bike and run is $10 for 18 and under and $15 for adults 19 and over. This price includes a free t-shirt while they last.
The Paws Walk, which is a poker walk with your dog around Outhwaite Reservoir, will begin registration at 10 a.m. at the shelter. Each entrant will receive a gift for walking with a $40 donation to the shelter. Prizes will be awarded for the best poker hand after the walk.
A rabies clinic and a micro-chip clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until supplies last. There will be a snack bar on the grounds serving bratwurst, hot dogs, and baked goods. All the proceeds from this event will stay right here in Crawford County and will be used to support our efforts to take care of the many abused, abandoned, and neglected pets we see each and every day.
For more information call the shelter at 419-562-9149 or go online to www.crawfordhumane.com for registration forms.
