BUCYRUS — A Georgia man appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday to plead guilty to one count of burglary, a second-degree felony punishable with up to eight years in prison and 27 counts of theft, each a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison.
Johnathon Solis, 32, committed burglary and stole 27 firearms resulting in the 27 theft charges. The thefts were committed during one burglary.
Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold approved a plea negotiation between the state and Solis’ attorney, Brian Gernert. Because the guns were taken in one event, but each charged separately, the agreement was for the 27 charges to run concurrently.
Leuthold sentenced Solis three years in prison for the burglary. 18 months on each theft charge to run concurrently for a total of 54 months in prison. Leuthold advised Solis that he would serve the entire sentence handed down today.
Leuthold also ordered Solis to pay restitution in an amount to be determined. Solis received 106 days of jail time credit.
In other court action, Courtney Posey, 38, of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to two counts of permitting drug abuse, each a fifth-degree felony and each punishable with up to 12 months in prison, and two counts of theft, each a fifth-degree felony and each punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
“You’ve struggled with this for a long time,” told Posey. “But I see some maturity in you. You came in here and asked for help. You said you didn’t want to live this way anymore. You’ve lost a lot of people to drugs.”
As a result, Leuthold decided to get Posey treatment and eventually place her in his Intense Supervision and Treatment program. Leuthold ordered Posey held in jail until she could be placed in the Crosswaeh in-patient treatment program. Following completion of that, Posey will be part of Leuthold’s ISAT program.
“I’m throwing everything at you but the kitchen sink to help you,” Leuthold said. “You will sit in jail until a bed becomes available. I don’t know when that will be but you’re going to have to be patient.”
