The Colonel Crawford Lions Club has named its students of the month for December, January, and February.
Kaitlyn Geiger, daughter of Bob and Tonya Geiger, is the December Colonel Crawford Student of the Month. She is a senior, a member of National Honor Society, and has earned an Academic Letter each year of high school. Her school activities include membership in Project B.L.A.C.K., F.C.C.L.A., Leo Club and Student Council. As a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs, Geiger participates in Youth Group, serving as secretary. She is also vice-president of her 4-H Club. Geiger plans to attend the Ohio State University in the fall but is undecided on a major.
Senior Kristen Teglovic is the January Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Ryan and Lori Teglovic. Teglovic is a member of National Honor Society, serves as Senior Class Treasurer, and was elected to Student Council. She is also a Leo Club board member and has earned an Academic Letter every year of high school.
As a member of the volleyball team, Teglovic has earned three letters and, this year serves as captain. She is a four-year member of the basketball team and has earned two letters, serving as team co-captain also. Teglovic is president of the Colonel Crawford Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Attending Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, Teglovic is involved in the Youth Group. She works at Paul’s Drive-In in Shelby. Her future plans are undecided.
Katie Siegel, February Student of the Month, is the daughter of Bob Siegel, and Rick and JoAnn Fogle. She is a senior, a member of Student Council, National Honor Society and has earned yearly Academic Letters. Other school organizations for Siegel are F.C.C.L.A., F.F.A., and Leo Club where she serves as treasurer.
Siegel is a two-year volleyball letter-man. She has also earned three letters in basketball and serves as captain this year. Siegel is the president of her 4-H club, Barnyard Guys and Gals. She is on the Junior Fair Board for Marion County, the Ohio Pork Ambassador Team, and the National Junior Swine Association. Siegel is currently serving as the Ohio Duroc Queen.
Siegel is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. She plans to attend either the Ohio State University or Wilmington College and will study Agriculture Business.
All three students and their family members were guests of the Colonel Crawford Lions at its February dinner meeting. The girls each received a commemorative certificate and a check for fifty dollars.
